Domestic Violence

Sometimes it becomes necessary to obtain a restraining order to protect yourself against violence, and it doesn’t matter whether you are male or female.  While more women tend to be abused than men, the statistics of domestic violence against men are under-reported.

In any event, the abused person will want to go to court to obtain a restraining order, whether you are married or not.

If there is an emergency, call the police and request an emergency protective order (EPO).  It will be good for 7 days, and it will give you time to go to court to obtain a temporary restraining order.

If you don’t obtain an EPO, you will still want to go to court as soon as possible and request a temporary restraining order.  Whether the order is granted or not, a hearing will be scheduled for 21 days later on a permanent restraining order.

Not only does Anne Marie Healy request and obtain restraining orders when necessary, but she also aggressively defends against them, especially when they are filed in bad faith.
